Comparison
Zyntra vs Mailtrap Email Sandbox
They test different things. Mailtrap's sandbox stands in for your mail server: your app sends to it and the email never reaches anyone. Zyntra is where the email arrives: your app sends through its real provider to a Zyntra address, so the test covers delivery too.

Which one fits
Choose Mailtrap Email Sandbox if
- Staging must never deliver a real email, and you want to inspect what would have been sent.
- Your app can point its SMTP settings at a test server per environment.
- Several people need their own logins.
Choose Zyntra if
- You want to know the email really arrives when your app sends it the normal way.
- Each test needs its own address without creating anything first.
- You send more than a few hundred test emails a month: Starter covers 10,000.
- An AI agent should read test email but never be able to send.
Can I use both?
Yes, and some teams do: a sandbox on local machines and in early CI, where nothing should leave the network, and Zyntra on staging, where the point is to check the email your users will get. The two answer different questions.
Questions
- Do I have to change my app's SMTP settings for Zyntra?
- No. Your app keeps its normal provider. Only the recipient changes: the test signs up with a Zyntra address.
- Does Zyntra check HTML or spam scores like Mailtrap?
- No. Zyntra gives you the email as it arrived: HTML, text, headers, links and attachments. It does not score it.
